Looking for an easy and healthy Halloween snack for kids? This 5 minute Halloween apple nachos recipe is just what you need. They are so delicious and your kids can help you make them.
Spooky Apple Nachos – A healthy Halloween snack
Scanning Pinterest, there are so many fun Halloween treats for kids.
The only problem is that most of them are cookies, cakes and candy with absolutely zero nutritional value.
Since kids are already on sugar overload during October I wanted to come up with a Halloween snack that my kids would get excited about, and was also a little bit healthy
However, as a busy mom with two kids (that like to help me in the kitchen) I wanted something that would be easier to put together.
I was sure I could come up with something just as delicious and fun, so I started brainstorming.
My kids love apples and so we decided to make Spooky Halloween Apple Nachos.
With just a few ingredients (and the help of my kiddos) this healthy Halloween snack was done in just a few minutes.

How to Make Spooky Halloween Apple Nachos
All you need for this fun Halloween snack is:
- Apples
- Halloween Sprinkles
- Eye ball candies
- Toppings like Nutella, Candy Melts, Peanut Butter or Chocolate Syrup
I also saved myself a ton of time by using my handy dandy apple slicer and corer. This one creates the perfect sized slices for apple nachos (and school lunches).
It also allowed my daughter to slice and core 6 apples in about 2 minutes!
After slicing we gave them a quick dip into some lemon lime soda to prevent browning.
Then we blotted them off with a paper towel. This step also helps to prevent the toppings from sliding off.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Apple Nachos – Halloween Style
The next step is to drizzle with melted chocolate and peanut butter.
We used milk chocolate candy melts because I had some we needed to use up. You could also use chocolate syrup if that’s what you have in the fridge.
For the peanut butter, we just scooped some spoonfulls into a glassbowl and heated on 50% power for 30 seconds.
If you have nut allergies in your house you can substitute it with a drizzle of carmel apple dip.
You could also go totally “extra” and and use peanut butter AND carmel.
I know I mentioned that this is a “healthy” Halloween treat – you can control the sugar by deciding how much of the toppings to add.
I went heavy on the peanut butter and lite on the chocolate and sprinkles.
Halloween Apple Nachos
Now comes the fun part!
First, we added a variety of fun orange, purple, orange green and black nonpareils sprinkles and candy quins.
Finally, we topped them with eyeballs!
SO Fun!!! My little monster’s gobbled these up in just a few minutes.
Creating this super fun halloween version of apple nachos as a family got us thinking of all the different topping ideas.
Apple Nachos Topping Ideas
Ok – these are not all healthy (except for the nuts) but I wanted to give you some more options.

Your apple nachos look delicious. I recently purchased an apple slicer, and I love it. I highly recommend one for moms and grandmothers. I also highly recommend you nachos!
Thanks Rhonda. An apple slicer is such a simple tool, and we use ours all the time. I love slicing up a bag of apples when I bring them home from the market and then storing them in an container with some lemon juice to keep them from browning. I find that our entire family eats more apples this way and it keeps them ready for school lunches – and healthy halloween treats 🙂
