Halloween Hawaiian Fruit Punch

If you’ve had the chance to take a look around this site, you’ve probably noticed that my kids LOVE Halloween!

We typically start setting out our fall decorations as soon as Labor Day is over.

Then we spend the next two months watching Halloween movies, making spooky treats and basically cramming in all the frightful fun we can until it’s over.

Instead of throwing one big Halloween bash, we prefer small family movie nights or for the kids to invite one or two friends over each weekend so we can try a bunch of different snacks and goodies.

This year my son had a special request: a red punch with eyeballs, so  I had to get creative.

My solution was this yummy Halloween Hawaiian Punch that everyone enjoyed. It’s the perfect mix of fruity, spooky and fun for all ages!

Red Halloween Hawaiian Punch

As an 80’s kid, I absolutely love Hawaiian Punch! The tropical flavors are classic and always taste SO good.

For this recipe, I decided to roll with the island flavors and add orange juice, lime juice, and pineapple juice.

Then for a spooky touch, I added a bit off cocounut cream to make the drink a little cloudy and lemon lime soda for some bubbles like a potion or witches brew.

Lastly, I added some floating gummy eyeballs to make sure the punch was scary enough for my eleven year old. It turned out to be such a fun drink!

I hope your friends and family enjoy this delicious punch as much as we do!

Ingredients

To make this Hawaiian Halloween Punch recipe, you’ll need:

Ingredient for Red Halloween Hawaiian Punch, lime juice, simple syrup, lemon lime soday, orange juice, pineapple juice, coconut oil.
  • 1 quart (32 ounces) Fruit Juicy Red Hawaiian Punch
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup coconut cream (canned)
  • ¼ cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups sparkling water or lemon-lime soda

Optional garnishes:

  • Gummy eyeballs
  • Gummy worms

Directions:

Chill the Hawaiian Punch. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the chilled Hawaiian Punch, orange juice, lime juice, and pineapple juice. Mix well.

Gently whisk the coconut cream to make it smooth. You could also use a hand-held immersion blender. Then pour the coconut cream into the punch mixture for a swirling, cloudy effect.

Melted coconut oil added to cold Halloween punch for a spooky effect.

Gradually add the simple syrup to taste.

Before serving, pour in sparkling water or soda for a bubbly element.

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the punch over the ice.

A ladel full of spooky party punch for Halloween.

Tips:

  • – Prepare and serve the punch just before your Halloween event to ensure the flavors and presentation are at their best.
  • – Some gummy candies may sink in the punch instead of float, so testing ahead of time would be recommended. You can also serve the gummies in individual glasses instead.
  • – Make sure your Hawaiian Punch, coconut cream, and sparkling water/soda are all properly chilled before starting.
  • – Add dry ice to the punch bowl for a fun visual effect which will make the already fizzy drink bubble and smoke. Just be careful to not serve any of the dry ice as it can be very dangerous if ingested.

Halloween Hawaiian Punch FAQs:

Can I make this punch ahead of time?

You can, but I definitely recommend making it right before your guests arrive. You could always mix all of the ingredients together (except the soda) and store it in a large pitcher. Then add the soda when it’s party time so it’s nice and fizzy for your party guests.

Can I use other kinds of Hawaiian punch?

Yes! Classic red Hawaiian punch was used for this recipe, but any color and flavor can be used. I’ve seen a similar recipe that uses green Hawaiian punch and lime sherbet that looks delicous. I’ve also heard there is a blue Hawaiian punch, but I haven’t tried it. There are so many different options in the juice aisle at your local grocery store!

What if I can’t find coconut cream?

If coconut cream is unavailable, you can use coconut milk. Just ensure it’s well mixed before adding to the punch.

Can I add alcohol to this?

Yes, if you’d like to make this an adults-only Halloween party punch, you could add white rum or coconut rum.

Can I add ice cream?

Yes, for a special treat add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to each glass! This will make the already perfect Halloween punch thicker and more creamy. It will also add a light layer of foam like a root beer float.

Can I use Ginger Ale instead?

I know a lot of people love ginger ale, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it. Of course, you could always try it and see if you like it, but I think sparkling water or Sprite goes best with the tropical flavors.
