If you’re like me, your skin completely changed since becoming a mom. It started during pregnancy and just keeps changing now that they have arrived. And now you have even less time. This easy skin care routine for busy moms will save you time and keep your skin looking great (even when you’re exhausted).
Simple Skincare for Moms
For most of my life, I looked MUCH younger than my age.
One day in my mid-20’s I substitute taught at a Jr High School and was stopped by a staff member asking to see my hall pass (remember this was a middle school…not a high school)!
At the time, I thought my “youthful glow” would last forever.
Fast-forward a decade and that glow was fading fast.
I am sure that two very difficult pregnancies, the stress that come with being a parent and the fact that I was pushing 40 all played a role in the demise of my skin.
No matter the cause, I was desperate to find anti-aging skincare products that really worked.
I not only wanted products that worked, but as a mom I needed something that I could do quickly and that was affordable.
Through a lot of trial and error I finally found a routine that provided visible results and took only minutes of my time.
The entire skincare routine included below only takes me about 2-3 minutes and every product is UNDER $20.
As I write this post, all of the products below have ratings ABOVE 4 stars on Amazon. If you combine all 5 products they have over 10,700 reviews – so I am not the only one that is happy with the results
AM/PM Skin Care Routine for Moms
The thing that I love about this routine is that it is SO fast. It literally takes me less than 3 minutes morning and night, and I have seen such a huge difference in my skin.
Here’s how it all goes down:
Morning Skin Care Routine
- Wash with this cleanser (usually in the shower to save more time)
- Spritz face with toner (right out of the shower)
- Apply moisturizer/sunscreen
- Bam! Ready to go (or apply makeup). I follow it up with my Minimalist Make Up Routine.
Evening Skin Care Routine
- Remove makeup with cleanser
- Spritz with toner
- Apply Moisturizer
- Apply Renewing Serum
- Apply Vitamin C Serum
There is no need to wait between each product. I layer them all on one after the other and it takes just minutes.
I also spread any extra product down onto my neck and the backs of my hands.
The Best Skin Care Products for Moms
Step 1) CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
This is a super gentle cleanser that is great for sensitive or aging skin.
The key ingredients of this product help to protect your skin’s natural moisture barrier while cleansing and hydrating.
I don’t have particularly sensitive skin but this cleanser is even approved by the National Eczema Association. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean – instead of dry and tight like most cleansers I have tried. I especially like to use it with my Kojac Sponge.
***I would describe this product as a cleansing cream. If you need a product that creates a lather you should try the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.
I first fell in love with this product when I worked as a receptionist at Urban Retreat Day Spa near my hometown in Northern California.
One of the best perks of the job was travelling to San Francisco to receive training in order to sell the Epicuren products in the spa.
I love that this toner comes in a spray bottle with a very fine mist. It’s not only fantastic as a toner, but can also be used to set your makeup. The smell is delicious; like citrus and almond cookies. It makes my skin feel hydrated and ready for the next steps.
I am telling you THIS TONER is AMAZING!
Sun protection is super important if you are hoping to keep your skin looking it’s best for as long as possibel.
This product is great because it does double duty as your moisturize and SPF.
At night you will want to remove any make up with the cleanser, spritz with the toner and then follow up with these two products.
This product contains encapsulated, gradual release retinol to minimize irritation and it has been amazing for my skin.
Any dermatologist will tell you that retinol is the gold standard of anti-aging products and with continued use has been shown to reduce wrinkles.
Since incorporating this product my skin has become brighter and smoother. I am very pleased with the results for such an affordable product.
***I only use this product at night, I don’t put it on under my makeup***
I had read a lot about Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid being a powerful anti-aging combination and this one had great reviews and a fabulous price so it was the first one I tried and I have stuck with it.
My skin has definitely responded to the product with increased firmness which is exactly what I was looking for.
Skin Care for Moms
Obviously, everyone’s skin has different needs, but if you are looking for anti-aging skincare products that work, these are so affordable and have such great reviews from so many people that they are worth a try to see if they work for you too.
I have been incredibly happy with the results so I wanted to share with others who are in their 30’s and beyond and are starting to see the signs of aging.
