Red, White and Blue Dessert Idea: Patriotic Mini Pudding Pies

Mini Red, White, and Blue Patriotic Pies

In my opinion, no holiday is complete without a dessert.

That being said, I also don’t like to spend a ton of time in the kitchen when I’d rather be hanging out with my family.

For that reason, I have become a HUGE FAN of no-bake desserts.

Typically, they only require a few ingredients and free up the oven for other dishes that need to be served hot.

Only 5 ingredients needed for this quick and easy no-bake dessert!

The other big advantage of no-bake recipes is that they are a great way for kids to get involved in the kitchen.

My kids absolutely love helping when it comes to holiday desserts, so I always try to make something that they can do without a ton of help (ie: doesn’t make a huge mess).

That’s exactly how I came up with this idea for these cute mini patriotic pudding pies: I wanted an easy and festive 4th of July dessert that could also be fun activity for the kids to do, while the adults were prepping the rest of the food.

In fact, they were so easy and so fun that I’m sure they are going to become a part of our Memorial Day and July 4th traditions.

No kids? No problem!

These miniature red, white and blue pies are sure to be a hit with everyone!

Seriously, aren’t these cute little mini pies just so perfect!

These pies start with Keebler Mini Graham Cracker Crusts that are ready to use right out of the package. They come in packs of 6, so you will need 2 packs for a dozen pies.

Just open the package and believe it or not, you’re almost done 😉

The next super easy step is to prepare the JELL-O Instant White Chocolate Pudding. All you need to do is add 2 cups of cold milk and whisk for two minutes, then place in the fridge to set.

You could use vanilla pudding, but the vanilla pudding is actually very yellow.

I wanted to make sure this dessert was red, white, and blue and the white chocolate pudding was the best choice, and so much whiter compared to the vanilla pudding.

And honestly, you could have told me it was vanilla pudding and I would have believed you. The flavor was very mild.

Next, you’ll fill each pie crust with the pudding (approximately 2 tbsps each) and now your pies are ready to decorate.

You can use the back of your spoon to smooth out the tops, but since they will be covered with fruit and whipped topping it doesn’t really matter.

We chose to top our patriotic pie with fresh raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries but you could also use canned pie filling if you already had some in your pantry.

You could also use fresh strawberries or cherries instead of raspberries depending on what your family likes.

If you’re having the kids make them, they will have so much fun customizing them with the berries.

I just love that these pies are individual servings so they make the perfect dessert for a 4th of July BBQ. No scooping, cutting, or serving required!
