The holiday season is such a fun and magical time of year.
The lights, the decorations, the food…there’s just so much to enjoy!
One easy way to add to the festivities is to have some printable Christmas placemats on hand to keep kids occupied and entertained.
Over the years, I’ve found so many uses for these. While they are great for Christmas Day, they can also be used during any holiday parties to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
- Christmas shopping and running around town with the kids? Print the placemats out ahead of time and keep the kids busy while you’re waiting for lunch.
- Kid’s Classroom Holiday Party at school? Print out a set and send them in! Your child’s teacher will love you!
- Hosting Christmas dinner at your house? The kids will love customizing their own place settings while the grown-ups prepare everything.
- Kids Cookie Decorating Party? Kick things off with these placemats while you pass out all of the frostings and sprinkles.
This year I decided to spread a little Christmas cheer and share these practical and adorable placemats with you to use with your own kids.
What are Christmas Activity Placemats?
These Christmas activity sheets are a fun and easy way to keep kids busy during the holidays. They are just simple pieces of paper to use as a placemat at the holiday table or while waiting in a restaurant. The placemats can also be used as a just-for-fun holiday craft.
They keep kids entertained with fun coloring pages, word searches, mazes, and more.
There’s even a special placemat just for Santa, that kids can use to set out milk and cookies on Christmas Eve.
Whether you’re at school, waiting for lunch during a busy shopping trip, or hosting a holiday dinner at your house, a printable placemat will always come in handy to help keep the kids occupied and happy.
How do I print out placemats?
The placemats can easily be printed at home. They are designed to be printed landscape on standard 8.5 x 11-inch paper.
If you wanted them to be larger, you have a few options:
- You could print them on legal size paper (8.5 x 14). This can be done at home, or you can have them printed at a local print shop.
- Print the activity mats on standard paper and then glue them to a larger piece of construction paper. This is a quick and easy way to ensure more coverage area, and also creates a nice background.
Are these Christmas coloring activity placemats reusable?
If you want to reuse these placemats you would need to laminate them. I would also recommend printing them on white cardstock which holds up better to wear and tear.
This works best on the activity mat with the word scramble, maze, crossword puzzle, and tic tac toe game.
Simply print the placemat and run it through a laminator.
This will allow you to be able to wipe it down in case any food gets on it.
It also creates a surface that can be used with dry-erase markers that can be cleaned and used repeatedly.
To reuse the coloring placemats, you could have your child color them first, then laminate them afterward to preserve the colors and allow for easy reuse.
You could also laminate the blank Christmas placemat, then have your child use colored dry-erase makers that can be erased and used again.
What ages are printable activity placemats appropriate for?
