Freezer Make Ahead Meals For Busy Moms: A DIY GUIDE
When I was pregnant with my son, I decided to spend some time prepping some meals ahead of time so that when I had the baby I could just grab a bag from the freezer and not have to think about what to make for dinner.
I got addicted to the process and ended up with enough meals prepped that we had two freezer meals per week for 3 months as part of our weekly meal plan before I had to make more.

Those make ahead meals were a life-saver as a new mom with two kids, but they are just as helpful now as a busy working mom.
Whether you’re an expecting mom, a new mom, a veteran mom or a working mom… you should hop on the freezer meal bandwagon ASAP.
Freezer cooking is the perfect way to prep homemade meals so you don’t have to resort to fast food (or cereal) to feed your family when you’re short on time.
The basic idea is that you prep all the ingredients for the meal and then store it in a freezer bag or foil baking tin. Some of the meals even call for cooking the entire thing so that when it’s dinner time all you have to do is heat up the meal and dinner is ready.
Many moms make their freezer meals in bulk, including me. By cooking large batches can get your freezer stocked with multiple meals at a time, but you only do the work once.
The basic steps are:
Choose your freezer friendly recipes
Make your grocery list
Get your items from the grocery store
Prep the ingredients (chop veggies, cube meat etc)
Cook the meal (Some recipes won’t be cooked now, but instead you will freeze the ingredients and drop it in the slow cooker, instant pot or oven on the day you will serve it)
Portion the meals into storage containers (plastic bags or baking tins)
Freeze and store until you’re ready
Another great tip is to choose recipes that require the same ingredients, which will make shopping and prep easier.
I also always buy prechopped veggies from the produce or freezer section to save myself even more time when conducting my freezer meal assembly line.
