The Best Baby Shows on Netflix
Trying to find something for your little one to watch on Netflix that is both entertaining and educational?
We’ve all been there!
Yeah, we’ve all heard that babies shouldn’t watch TV, but in many cases that is just simply not practical.
Especially if you have more than one child in your house…the older ones are going to watch tv and the younger ones are probably going to be in the same room.
We fully support every parent’s right to make the best choices for their own children and run your household how you see fit.
Whether you just need a few minutes to get dressed in the morning, or you have a multi-aged group of kiddos all watching together and you are looking for a show that is appropriate for even the youngest in the group, this list has got you covered.
It is important to note that the research surrounding children’s media use continues to be updated and the current evidence for any media benefits are limited for children under the age of two (what we would typically consider babies).
That being said, there are many baby shows on Netflix that toddlers and young children will enjoy too.
Plus there are certainly many benefits for moms when your child can be safely entertained for a short amount of time while you do one of the million things that mom’s do every day…..#laundry
All that being said, you came here looking for my recommendations for the best baby shows on Netflix and that’s what I am going to offer.
Now, before we get to the list of my top picks of the best tv shows on Netflix for babies I want to mention that these are totally my own opinion.
That being said, I am an elementary school teacher with a background in child development and two young children.
I also tend to be conservative when it comes to what I think children should be watching on tv.
However, please be sure to pre-screen the shows on the list and decide if they are a good fit for your family and don’t just take my word for it.

What are some good quality family friendly shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime I can watch?
I am SO glad you asked! As a mom and elementary school teacher I am always looking for “safe” shows to watch with my own kids and to show in my classroom.
Over the years I have curated a collection of good, clean, family-friendly shows which I update every year. #you’rewelcome
Is my child considered an infant, baby or toddler?
Generally speaking here are the guidelines:
- Infant: birth to 1 year old
- Baby: encompasses birth up to the age of 4, also described as a “very young child”
- Toddler: a child in the range of 1-4 years old
So, as you can see allowing your “baby” to watch a show on Netflix could very easily be considered a toddler or even a preschooler.
And since child development experts recommend that parents talk and sing to their children as much as possible before age 5, sitting your child on your lap and watching a show together can be a great way to develop your babies language skills.
- Sing along with the songs on the show
- Talk to your baby about what you are seeing and what the characters are doing
- Stand up and dance along to any songs while holding your baby, or encouraging them to dance along with you
- Clap or stop to the beat of any songs the characters sing
Again, we hope that this list of shows is helpful to you and that you enjoy watching them with your baby.
