5 Must Have Anti-Aging Skincare Products for women in their 30’s.
Growing up I always looked really young. Even in my mid-20’s I substitute taught at a Jr High School and one day I was stopped by a staff member asking to see my hall pass (remember this was a middle school…not a high school)! I figured I wouldn’t be looking for anti-aging skincare products until my 60’s.
Fast-forward a decade and that “youthful glow” was fading fast. I am sure that two very difficult pregnancies, the stresses that come with being a parent, and the fact that I was pushing 40 all played a role in the demise of my skin. No matter the cause, I was desperate to find anti-aging skincare products that really worked.
I not only wanted products that worked, but as a mom I needed something that I could do quickly and that was affordable. The entire skincare routine included in this post takes me about 2-3 minutes and every product is UNDER $20.
Finally I found the magic combination that brought back tone, elasticity and hydration. As I write this post, all of the products below have ratings ABOVE 4 stars on Amazon. If you combine all 5 products they have over 10,700 reviews – so I am not the only one that is happy with the results
So, without further ado:
I first fell in love with this product when I worked as a receptionist at Urban Retreat Day Spa near my hometown in Northern California. One of the best perks of the job was travelling to San Francisco to receive training in order to sell the Epicuren products in the spa. I love that the toner is in a spray bottle with a very fine mist. It’s not only fantastic as a toner, but can also be used to set your makeup. The smell is delicious; like citrus and almond cookies. It makes my skin feel hydrated and ready for the next steps.
Cleanse, Hydrate & Rejuvenate
Next comes the Holy Trinity of CeraVe Products. I was first introduced to CeraVe when a co-worker was going through a course of Accutane. It was recommended by her dermatologist to deal with the insane dry skin that is part of the Accutane process. I decided to give their products a try and I have not been disappointed by a single product I have tried. It is amazing that such affordable products actually work. I have used most of their products, but here are the three I use every day.
This is a super gentle cleanser that is great for sensitive skin. The key ingredients of this product help to protect your skin’s natural moisture barrier while cleansing and hydrating. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin but this cleanser is even approved by the National Eczema Association. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean – instead of dry and tight like most cleansers I have tried. I especially like to use it with my Kojac Sponge.
***I would describe this product as a cleansing cream. If you need a product that creates a lather you should try the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.
Even though this product says “PM” moisturizing lotion; I use it day and night. They have an “AM” version which includes sunscreen. I have sunscreen in my foundation and powder, so I stick with the non-UV protection version. I especially love using this product on my neck and have seen quite a difference in the texture of my skin in that area. It’s lightweight and helps my makeup go on smoothly.
This product contains encapsulated, gradual release retinol to minimize irritation and it has been amazing for my skin. Any dermatologist will tell you that retinol is the gold standard of anti-aging products and with continued use has been shown to improve collagen production. Since incorporating this product my skin has become brighter and smoother. I am very pleased with the results for such an affordable product.
I had read a lot about Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid being a powerful anti-aging combination and this one had great reviews and a fabulous price so it was the first one I tried and I have stuck with it. My skin has definitely responded to the product with increased firmness which is exactly what I was looking for.
Obviously, everyone’s skin has different needs. If you are looking for anti-aging skincare products that work, these are so affordable and have such great reviews from so many people that they are worth a try to see if they work for you too. I have been incredibly happy with the results so I wanted to share with others who are in their 30’s and are starting to see the signs of aging.
